FTL 196

My favorite layouts still come from Clean and Simple Stamping blog.  This is #196, and I do have all 196 in a (pink) binder for reference!

I started with paper from a scrapbook kit, inspired by the sunglasses on it, matted on Old Olive.  The suns are from a Techniques Tuesday set, and the sentiment from Verve.   I used Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie inks from SU, a square punch from CM, and banner die from PTI.  Plus my neglected dew drops.    Looked better in my head, but had fun making it!

Black, White and Yellow

Hello and Happy Friday!

This sketch is from Operation Write Home, and I'm happy to say that it yielded 2 cards!  The one on the left appeals to me more, but it was fun mixing up the designer (patterned) paper.   (Julie, here's my black, yellow and white!)   I used SU Daffodil Delight, Sunny Garden DP, Night and Day DP, Nestabilities dies (long rectangles and long deckled rectangles),  flowers are from Gina K Hello Sunshine set, sentiments are PTI Mega Mixed Messages, and those cute banners are a die from PTI...love those!  The ribbon is Daffodil Delight taffeta from SU.   I learned to make this "cheater's bow" from a Gina K video tutorial....here.

Sunshine for the Snowbirds

Hello! A little California sunshine for you today! Our temps have been in the high 60's/low 70's, which is unusual this time of year. The trees are confused too..our fruitless pear trees are blooming already! However, this weekend it's getting "colder"....low 60's/high 50's.....

This card was made for a friend back east who had no furnace for almost 2 days! I don't know how she made it through, but she did!

Also used this week's Verve sketch for the layout. The "bow" was made with the fabulous little Bow Easy tool...made a triple bow and cut the loops. Does it remind you of sunshine? If you squint a little?

Stamps: Verve Let It Shine
Ink: SU Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade
Paper: SU DD and PP and Sunny Garden DP
Etc.: Nestabilities dies, SU border punch, CB embossing folder, ribbon, rhinestones

Verve Sketch Week 1

Biggest card I've ever made! LOL! Hi..thanks for visiting! I am enjoying the blogging thing...it's definitely keeping me motivated to stamp. :) This is a Verve sketch, found on SCS...there's even a badge on the side now..just click on that to check out the sketches. If you participate weekly, you could even win a stamp set...how's that for movtivation?! Although I did ink up one of my two Verve sets for this card, you can use any products. The card is 8x4...and I even have pink envelopes in this size! :)
Thanks for looking!

SCS Inspiration Challenge

Yes, it's bright! The website for "Stephen Joseph Gifts" was the source of the inspiration challenge on SCS. I chose a pair of rainboots, as they reminded me of this stamp set.

I definitely relaxed and enjoyed making this card once I realized that getting inspiration isn't about copying it exactly, which was my first instinct...that just produces too much stress!! And I'm ok with the sentiment being a little crooked...I was watching Twilight while making this, and got a little distracted by Edward...sigh.

Edward or Jacob?

Stamps: SU Flower Filled, PTI Mixed Messages
Ink: SU Only Orange, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow, Orchid Opulence, Glorious Green, Melon Mambo
Paper: SU Melon Mambo, white, "Sweet" DP (retired)
Etc.: Brads, ribbon, Nestabilities dies, pop dots

This is my first attempt at the "Black Magic" technique, which was a feature on SCS this week. I used Night of Navy instead of black, to coincide with the color challenge of Old Navy Delight.
